Increase Your Blog Traffic!

Increasing your blog traffic is one of the most important components of growing your affiliate sales. We wanted to share some simple tips that could help increase traffic to your website!

Website Analytics

Before increasing your blog traffic, it is important to understand the traffic your site is currently receiving. There are programs available that you can use to monitor your traffic and analyze your website statistics (Google Analytics is a good program). Once you sign up for the service, you will receive valuable information about your website. You will be able to determine the number of unique visitors, page views, bounce rate, percentage of new visitors and average time spent on your blog.

Once you receive this information, you can use the data to help drive traffic to your blog. For example, do you have a high bounce rate? Think about why your readers are not visiting more than one page on your site. Once you gain this knowledge, make changes that you think will decrease your bounce rate and encourage readers to visit additional pages. You can also analyze your pages with the highest number of visits and determine the important characteristics of those pages that can be copied on other posts.

Frequent Updates

Regularly updating your blog with quality content is one of the best strategies to increase your blog traffic. Having new content on your blog brings a steady stream of viewers to your site. If you are not updating your blog content, it is hard to get new visitors. For maximum growth, update your blog content as frequently as possible.

If you use Facebook and Twitter, increase your reader base by letting your Facebook friends and Twitter followers know when you have released a new blog post!

Google+

Google+ is the latest craze to hit the social networking scene. Since it is owned by Google, you can use it to increase your site visits coming from Google searches. The most useful Google+ tool for bloggers is the “+1” button feature. This feature was designed to allow users to recommend sites to their friends, similar to the “Like” button on Facebook.

So, how do you maximize blog traffic using Google+? Add the “+1” button to your blog! The more clicks you receive, the higher your search engine index will be.  You can also analyze which of your blog posts receive the most “+1” clicks, and use this information to improve future posts.
