Each month we will be introducing an up and coming affiliate who does an excellent job of representing Sigma and the affiliate program. One affiliate will be handpicked and interviewed for a featured blog post. Your Sigma Affiliate Team is always searching for the next Rising Star, so keep up the good work and you could be featured in a future post! Keep reading to meet our first Rising Star!
Sigma: How did you first get involved with blogging/YouTube videos?
Say: I’ve been blogging on my personal blog site since 2006 but it was not until 2010 that I turned it into a beauty blog (and separated my personal blog from it). I wanted my blog to be an extension of all the videos that I make in YouTube. So aside from having a video tutorial, I also create separate blog tutorials for all those who are more into reading than watching. I started making YouTube videos in 2010 (simultaneous to my blog going public). Watching Blair, Elle, and Michelle Phan ignited my passion for makeup and beauty.
Sigma: What is your must-have Sigma product?
Say: I can’t do my makeup without the Sigma F80! I always find myself reaching for it every time I do my foundation - I love the flawless finish it gives to my face! And of course I can’t forget my Sigma Make Me Blush Brush Set (Travel Edition).
Sigma: Tell us your best beauty tip.
Say: Winging out your liner can give your look an instant oomph! It’s an instant “eye-sexifier” as I like to call it. Tightlining/lining your waterline with black eye pencil is also a surefire way to transform a daytime look into a nighttime look.
Sigma: Do you have any advice for other affiliates just starting out?
Say: Just keep going! Feed your brain with various marketing strategies and just basically do what you can to be able to reach whatever goal you have right now. The more you persevere, the more you’ll succeed. You’re closer than you think.
Sigma: What other beauty gurus or celebrities do you look up to for inspiration?
Say: For the past months, I’ve been hooked on Judy of ItsJudytime! I had the privilege to spend time with her and Benji when they visited the Philippines. Judy’s really admirable when it comes to her videos; they are short, understandable and very easy to do! She is also really down to earth; it was a dream come true to be able to spend time with her! Michelle Phan will always inspire me. Seeing where she is right now gives me more hope & desire to achieve the same things in my own way someday. I also look up to AprilAthena7, DulceCandy87, and RachelTalbott! The positivity they emanate in their videos is just contagious!
Sigma: What are you doing when you’re not working on your YT channel?
Say: I workout as much as I can, go out for relaxation like watch movies alone, shop, try out different restaurants....etc. I freelance as a hair and makeup artist, so there are times I head out to meet clients and beautify them on their special days. This coming school year (June-March in the Philippines) is my last college year in the university where I am taking up Marketing as my major. Everything is a whirlwind of activities! It’s a lot to balance, but my passion just keeps burning.
