2012 Affiliate Program Recap

The Affiliate Team is constantly striving to improve the Sigma Affiliate Program for you and we hope you have enjoyed your experience thus far. The Sigma Affiliate Program has undergone many changes in 2012 and we would like to summarize all the exciting features we have added to improve your experience as an affiliate!

Affiliate Blog: In order to provide the best information possible to our affiliates, we have doubled our blog posts from 2011. We are also working hard to develop the content of the blog to offer insight on affiliate marketing in general and strategies to improve sales.

Affiliate Handbook: We are so happy to be able to provide everyone with this go-to guide to the affiliate program! You can find answers to many of your questions in this handbook and learn more about the Sigma, affiliate marketing, and our affiliate program! 

Holiday Gift Guide Challenge Winner!

This month’s affiliate challenge was to create a holiday gift guide for your blog or YouTube and highlight different Sigma products. We received many great entries, but there could only be one winner and we chose…Kristen from the NeutraKris Beauty Blog! 

Kristen had a very simple and easy to understand gift guide, which highlighted products under $50. She used images from the Sigma website to create this fun collage:

Her post broke each item down with a short description of the products in her own words. The strategies Kristen used include:

• Adding her affiliate link in numerous places throughout the post
• Deep-linking to each product
• Sharing the discount code
• Clearly listing each of the prices
• Instead of using product descriptions on the Sigma website, Kristen re-wrote and highlighted the most important selling features for each item.

Affiliate Feature - Russia

Today we’re going to spotlight five affiliates from Russia, a country whose cosmetic industry is experiencing a rapid expansion. It is currently one of the fastest growing markets in the world, increasing at an estimated 10-15% a year, considerably higher than the US and European markets. With such a popular beauty industry, it’s no surprise that we have many beautiful and talented Russian affiliates. We selected five Russian speaking affiliates and asked them to choose one of their favorite makeup tutorials using Sigma products. Check out their gorgeous looks below!

Maximizing Your Holiday Sales

Even with Black Friday over, there are still plenty of ways for you to increase commission and maximize sales this holiday season. Keep on reading for some helpful tips and tricks!

• Keep sharing the 10% off discount code. You can find December’s here.
• Be consistent about sharing your link. There are people who like to purchase early, and last minute shoppers.
• Create a holiday gift guide post (if you do this make sure and submit it to the Holiday Gift Guide Challenge for your chance to win some fabulous Sigma products!)
• Make sure to highlight the price range categories in your Holiday Gift Guide post!
• Utilize all of your social networks to share your affiliate link and the discount code!
• Word of mouth! Although affiliate marketing is online based, that doesn’t mean spreading the word to your family and friends won’t help! You can always follow up an in-person conversation with an email or Facebook message including your affiliate link!
• Be strategic with the keywords you use to advertise products: “Gift”, “New”, “Free Gift with $30 Purchase”, “Sale”, etc. 

Online holiday sales are expected to increase by 15% this year so make sure to assess your social media sites and implement these strategies!
