Sigma was founded in 2008 by Brazilian natives Rene, a civil engineer with a Master's degree in Business Administration, and his wife Simone, a researcher with a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. After discovering the strong need for worldwide availability of affordable and high-quality beauty products, the couple combined their knowledge of engineering and scientific research to create a company that met these needs in the cosmetic industry.

Today, Sigma is one of the fastest-growing and top-rated companies in the beauty industry as a result of its ingenious and high-quality products, all of which are tested for performance, resistance and durability to fit the specific needs and wants of every consumer. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sigma has a rapidly expanding product line and will soon open our first retail store in the Mall of America.

We recently asked Simone, one of the owners, a few questions about the history, growth and future of Sigma:

What has it been like to experience Sigma grow?

Simone: It has been surreal. I can't say I did not expect to be where we are, because Rene and I invest all of our time to innovate and improve Sigma. It is natural to us, and it is what we love to do. Our growth is the result of our vision, our constant innovation, our quality, and the hard work of an excellent team - including our amazing affiliates, which are an extension of our company.

What has been the most rewarding part of starting Sigma?

Simone: Seeing that the sky is the limit when a Civil Engineer and a Molecular Biologist venture into cosmetics with the support of a talented and amazing group of employees!

What does the future hold for Sigma?

Simone: The future is certainly bright for Sigma. There is no turning back on our growth and our position as one of the most successful cosmetic brands currently available. We have loyal fans in over 100 countries that deserve the best, and that is what we are constantly working on. Innovation, problem-solving and the highest quality our clients can experience are the key players on our future. We are also launching our very first physical store at the largest and most visited mall in the US - The Mall of America. This store will represent an entirely new concept in cosmetics retail. I cannot wait to share more details!
